The Art of Hosting Exhibition

Commissioned by Modulnova Lisboa in the context of Lisbon Design Week, Sofia De= Francesco created The Art of Hosting, a living exhibition featuring a site-specific lighting installation that explores the idea of hosting as a sensory and atmospheric experience.

Developed in close collaboration with Modulnova, the project brings together space, objects, light, materials, and gestures to create a sense of warmth, presence, and belonging. Rooted in SD=F’s ongoing research into recycled materials, traditional artefacts, and collective memory, the installation unfolds as a dialogue within the showroom, reflecting on how we inhabit, gather, and share space.

Through materiality and atmosphere, The Art of Hosting considers the subtle elements that transform a space into a place of connection, comfort, and exchange.
